Mommy: No, honey. He's a Scot. The character Shrek just happens to have that kind of accent.
Firstborn (wisely): Oh! I see. The Scots talk like Ogres!
Mommy (trying to hold back laughter): No, no-wait! *laughing* You've got it turned 'round. The man who did the voice of Shrek just happened to use a Scottish accent. Ogres aren't Scots.
Baby: What does that mean?
Firstborn (patiently): It means that Ogres aren't Scots; Scots are Ogres.
