I had a mini for like four years of really solid use, despite dropping it countless time on pavement, moving treadmills, metal chairs, etc and then it stopped working once and for all. I got a shuffle like last year and it lasted a few months before it stopped. Apparently I can send it in for like $80 and they'll fix it, but it only costs like $60 or something to get a brand new one.

My mom has stock in Apple so she's like "BUY MORE iPODS" but I have some sandisc tiny thing that's been a lot less problematic. Dunno.

haha, I wish I had stock in Apple. I have owned both a nano and a mini with no issues at all. This is my new ipod classic I got like 2 months ago-- so I'm really aggravated, BUT it's still under warranty-- so that's good! I'm gonna be visiting an Apple store later this week, I think, I'm out of things to try to get it to work. Tell her I have been buying ipods, though!! (And I own a macbook). =)

I hate when my iPod just doesn't do what it's supposed to do. Luckily my new classic is nice. My nano has lasted me almost two years now too so I dunno how to help you except maybe reset it? I think you hold down the menu button and the middle button. I hope that helps!

Yeah, well I'm gonna try resetting it-- but that's pretty much my last ditch effort at this point. I already restored it to factory settings and put everything back on it, tried different chargers-- I think I'm going to be visiting the Apple store later this week. My nano and mini have given me no problems whatsoever, but I got my classic in January, and all of this is going on. =/ Thank you!

Well thankfully my classic hasn't acted up. I hope to keep it that way. Thankfully though, they're opening a new Apple Store closer to where I live so it'll be easy to get it fixed if need be :D And no probs! I hope your iPod gets better!

I hope it works soon! I still have to get mine fixed, haha. I washed it like, two months ago and I need a new battery, but I'm too lazy/poor to get my ass out to the Apple store which is like... 45 minutes away, lol

Ahh, I'm going crazy with just a few days of no ipod-- and I have other ones, but it's not the same! I'm way broke, but I bought this one no more than 2 months ago, so I don't think I'll have to pay for anything. The nearest Apple store is like an hour and a half away though.

Maybe it's the charger? *optimistic*

I wish it was! I tried all 3 that hook up to the computer that I own, as well as the wall charger and car charger-- nothing has worked. In like.. an hour and a half I can call Apple Support, I have a feeling I'm going to have to take it to one of the stores. It just sucks because it's really out of my way...
