Speaking as a Floridian (which I rarely call myself), I would like to take this time to remind everyone else that there is no such thing as NOT flip flop weather. It has to be freezing and wet... and even then, you can argue.

Flip flops will always be appropriate attire. No temperature drops will stop us. Thatisall.

I've worn flip-flops in freezing rain. Not on purpose, but because it didn't start raining until after I was in the middle of campus and didn't have time to go back to my apartment and put sneakers on. I wouldn't recommend it, especially since mine are the soft kind that get kind of ruined when wet.

yeah, I've worn thongs (as we Australians call flip flops) in the freezing rain. Same story as the previous commenter :P

But yeah, I only don't wear thongs when it's wet! Any other time, they're on!

Definately true for Florida. Come up north and you'll find inappropriate flip flop weather. lol!
