I just read online that the canadian immigration office's website had been recently seeing more activity than it ever has. Accually traffic has increased 10 times or somthing like that. People have spawned websites like www.marryanamerican.com whose lead paragraph states:
----------"Now that George W. Bush has been officially elected, single, sexy, American liberals - already a threatened species - will be desperate to escape. These lonely, afraid (did we mention really hot?) progressives will need a safe haven. You can help. Open your heart, and your home. Marry an American. Legions of Canadians have already pledged to sacrifice their singlehood to save our southern neighbours from four more years of cowboy conservatism."-----------
This to me is crazy, i mean i might just be saying this becuase i think i'm the only john kerry voter who gives a rats ass about who won. Congratulations Mr. Bush. I say this becuase i was against both candiates, but figure i need to vote. How unpatriotic not too.
But to my point, how does leaving the country solve anything? Really. All i think is "cowards"! If you leave you surrender all your rights as a United States Citizen and in following elections won't be here to help change it, and the conservative government will just continue its reign. Don't get me wrong i lean more the right, but would favor a split government. Anyway, back to my point again, More or less these people are just running away from the problem and that doesn't solve much.
I guess what i'm really getting at here is:
1. Does anyone know anyone moving to canada?
2. Has anyone considered this option?
I'm just curious to know.
