Yay! Caldweir chess fic! I've been lazy about the one I was trying to write, but you wrote one for me.

It's, like, classic, LOL. There's not even a dozen fics in the pairing but the chess thing is our classic thing. XD

And, hey, you wrote first! I might as well return the favor. ;)

yay!! I have a not-so-secret love of Weir/Caldwell and this was very well done. He totally has a crush on her, and I think she's wary about him. This was just perfect. :-)

Aw, thanks! Yes, I think he's totally hot for her and she's not sure how she feels about him. He's so cute, that Caldwell. Weir/Caldwell is totally my het pairing of choice, too. Glad you liked it!

I don't usually read het, but I really enjoyed this piece. You showed the tension between the two very well, as well as Elizabeth's frustration with Caldwell over his tactlessness in handling the situation when he took over for John.

One little typo: phrased a big high-handedly. I believe the word you want is "bit". ;)

Thanks for sharing. I hope you write more along these lines.

Thanks for reading! I'm glad you liked it.

And thanks re: the typo, too. Earlier, I noticed that I had it marked as a tag scene for "Condemned" and not "Conversion." >_<

That's what happens when you post these things in the middle of the night! LOL.

Well, heck. If this story is an example of the world coming to an end, I say "Let's party like it's 1999!" This is a wonderful character piece. I think "favorite foe" is an excellent description of the relationship between the two. Each one considers the other a worthy adversary, with maybe just a bit of affection thrown in there, too.

Definitely one of my favorite Weir fics.

I almost named the fic, "Favorite Foe," actually but I wanted to keep with the chess theme and went with "draw" instead. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

oooohhh....I love it! Caldwell can be such an @ss, but I know there's something in there that would be just brilliant with Elizabeth.
