I have been thinking about vampires in the traditional sense.. cold, no heartbeat.. lets stop there. Now if a vampire has no heartbeat, that would render their circulatory system useless. Therefore they would no longer need to eat either because their bodies no longer need the nutrients that a normal working circulatory system would distribute throughout their body. So why would they have bloodlust and a need to suck/drink blood if they get nothing out of it? Can't be anything in the blood, hormones or whatnot because they can't absorb it since their bloodstream doesn't work. Even if their circulatory system were to work miraculously without a beating heart, their cold bodies would tell you otherwise because just the friction of your blood moving through your body creates heat.
I just thought I would share my thoughts of an idea that not seems scientifically flawed after some hard thought. Undoubtedly there is no way a vampire in the traditional context can ever exist.
