Sailor Moon R Piano Music Book

May 21, 2012 16:49

Here is a piano book I got in the mail today. Me being a music teacher, I was drawn to this obviously. I play piano so I am excited about learning the songs in here.

There is lots of colorful artwork throughout the book. There is also some text before the music which I believe is the lyrics to the songs in the book.

I'm not sure what this page is. There is a chart here on the left. Maybe a practice log or something. I don't read Japanese.

I played through a few of these tunes, and they are true to the actual songs. I'm a little disappointed at the difficulty level, which is pretty low. I would like to have seen these songs a little more challenging. The listing did not show much of the music, so I was unsure of the difficulty. I am aware there is the piano fantasia book, but I rarely see that for sale. Besides, I can download the sheet music for that for free at http://members.multimania.co.uk/chibiusa/sheets/. I have played out of that book several times. I have not seen the music from this book online, so it's nice to see some different arrangements of "Moonlight Densetsu," even if they are easy.

One thing that I'm still not sure of, there are THREE VERSIONS of "Moonlight" in the book. The first is a standard version, the second is just the chords, the third is an accompaniment version for playing with a singer or solo instrument. You could easily decipher the two latter from the first version.

Overall pretty cool. My favorite part is the artwork. Just wish they had put a little more effort into the music.
