city, school, and fic

Went into the city yesterday. Not to protest though. Even if I want to, I have school and world all next week.

'Twas very er, different, seeing a cop with a huge rifle standing on the LIRR train platform.

I went in with auroraslily to meet up with a friend in NYC for dinner, so we got in a little after 6. Penn Station was all decked out with red, white, and blue banners. Huge police presence and it just felt weird.

At one point, auroraslily said to me, "so does this make you feel any safer?"

And I immediately said, "No."

We went uptown for dinner and it was very nice. We geeked out, as English majors do (well, I'm still a senior, auroraslily and the other friend have graduated). Afterwards, we went to Starbucks and I had a lovely passion tea lemonade and it was quite good.

Then we went to Barnes and Noble and I petted the Shakespeare section.

I really wish I was making that up.

So, tomorrow my classes begin. How much I am not looking forward to them? Well, a lot. If by "a lot" you mean "not at all."

So here's my schedule:

Monday - Wednesday:

Major British Authors, aka "Wherein We Read The Faerie Queene"
2:25-3:40 p.m.

Art of the Italian Renaissance
4:15-5:30 p.m.

Tuesday-Thursday:

Art of the Near East
9:25-10:40 a.m.

History of Illustration
4:30-5:45 p.m.

World Literature
6:00-8:30 p.m.

Yes, that is a sucky schedule. I'm working 9-1 on Mondays and Wednesdays, and full-time on Fridays, and I'm really, really going to tell my bosses that I can't work on Tues and Thurs because I do need some kind of a break, even though that's an insanely long one.

And in other news, I have completed my porny Remus/Sirius fic. But I'm not going to post it yet.

I am a tease.
