My puppy is adorable. He got a haircut recently so his eyes look huge.

Will be sending you out that information when I am awakeish.

Dean’ll never have to bury one either.

He never will.

Oh, I liked this a lot, especially the image of the kid in Salvation-Army clothes sneaking bones to the strays he meets and never names.

Thank you so much. I think the image of Dean as this anonymous kid is really the image of the story, so I'm pleased you liked it.

I love the idea of Dean anonymously traveling through the lives of various dogs along the way and never quite letting himself consider having one of his own. And the last line's a killer.

Thank you for the feedback.

There's something about boys and their dogs. Even if it's not "their" dogs, you know?

I hoped to convey with the last line is a moment that's just so Dean. The gut punch that's not expected.

Thanks for the feedback. Yep the last line was a total gut punch. Once I had it in mind, I knew that would be the only way to end it.

I currently have a dog (a Yorkie, who makes a cameo here and I refrained from uploading a photo of his adorable self into this post) and he's the sweetest thing.
