iPod help

okay, so how in the hell do I transfer music from my iTunes to my shuffle?

I have it in my computer and the light is still blinking orange.

Does iTunes recognize that you have it plugged in?

k, well i've never done this on a PC and i've only used a shuffle once? but i think it's supposed to know it's there. does the computer recognize it?

it turns out I had an older version of itunes and it didn't recognize it. i just updated it and now i can see my ipod (which has been named reg's ipod, heh) and I'm uploading.
