No problems that need trouble you, my lady.

[Despite this, Delita has a bandage on his neck, as well as the hint of many more underneath his armor.]

[Ovelia snaps her medical book shut, standing, moving towards Delita.

She looks over him a moment.]

...You are lying.

[Delita stares back at her evenly.]

I've no cause to lie to you, Ovelia.

Then you presume that any situation that causes you harm is of no consequence to me.

[And she just stares right back, stubbornly.]

Whatever our relation may be, I am a knight in your service. We are at war. Minor skirmishes have been fought while you were away, but 'tis nothing of any great import.

[Ovelia sighs a little, but still smiles at him.]

And whatever our relation may be, I am still a healer. Minor skirmishes, mayhap, but it is my duty to see to the health and well-being of all those in my service.

[And in case he decides to throw the 'you're a queen' nonsense...]

It has been the duty and role of Ivalician Queens for generations.

At the very least, allow me to look upon your wounds.

If you insist.

[Delita sits, removing his armor. Half of his chest is covered in crude bandages, some of which are already beginning to bleed through.]

[For a split-second, Ovelia transforms into a blushing schoolgirl, as a rather handsome man is undressing in front of her. Though this is a common initial reaction at every time whenever an attractive member of the male sex does this, but this reaction is rather instantaneous, and disappears almost as quickly, replaced by the furrowing of the brow, and a concentrated look.]

These shall have to be changed, and the wounds cleaned and repatched.

[She runs to her bedside table, taking the hot water that she normally uses for washing, pouring it into a large bowl. Her steps are quick as she places the bowl of hot water by his side, and she pulls her medicine pouch off her belt (she never leaves without it), setting it down next to the bowl.

It's true she could use magic, but judging from how many wounds he has, she doesn't want to risk fainting. And even magic can't clean wounds, just mend them...

She then starts to gently remove the bandages.]

Disinfecting these wounds may cause you some pain, and I apologize in advance for that.

I've grown more than accustomed to pain. Do what you must.

Even so, I wish not to cause you any more pain than is necessary.

[As she says this, the last of the bandages is removed, and she does wince a small bit, before clicking her tongue. Already the needle is in the hot water, sterilizing, and the thread in a safe spot. After gathering her usual materials, she applies some antiseptic on her hands, and then proceeds to first task of stopping the bleeding. Usually the only means to do this is via a compress, but she had read that another proper means was to use a strange sort of tweezers, though Ovelia didn't have one of those. The most she could do was take her own hands and press for a minute or two on the wound to allow the bleeding to at least slow ( ... )

Yes, I cared for my own wounds. I was going to have a healer take a look at them-

[a slight gasp as she sews; for all his talk, he is only human]

-but it seems I've found one already.

[Delita might have expected Ovelia to jump and panic at the sound of him gasping, but instead, she calmly smiles at him, giving him a reassuring look.]

I am sorry--I am almost done.

[Aaaand now the bandages are being applied...]

It is my pleasure to look after any wounds you may have. Do not hesitate to call on me if you ever need my assistance.

[And finished! Ovelia touches the bandages to make sure that they're nice and tight.

They are.]

Still, you must take care. Even if you do not have a healer nearby, it is important that you apply some antiseptic to your wounds prior to bandaging them. And they were a bit loose--make sure they are tight enough to not only stay on the wounds, but also to where they can provide some assitance as a hemostatic measure.

Though the problem is that many can make them too tight. A balance is important.

[He chuckles]

Where does a princess learn these things?

[Ovelia's cheeks tinge a pink with embarrassment, and maybe even pride, and she touches her right earring again. Yes, that familiar little nervous habit.]

Medicinal arts were part of my education in the Monastery.

[though that was magical rather than practical, but Delita doesn't have to know that.]

Though I shall be honest and say that it was also due to my own personal enjoyment of it.

Mayhap I should take you with me on these outings. You've more talent than half our healers.

[Ovelia smiles warmly, her eyes sparkling like a child's at the thought. Anything to get out of this castle, to get outside and be something more than the ruler she knows she isn't.

...Though of course...

Delita could be using her again. She's very aware of that.]

That would be wonderful! I...I am not so skilled, but I would be most honored to accompany you, and be of any assistance that I am able.
