[Vivi looks back over her shoulder at New Bark Town. She isn't completely satisfied with the explanation she's been given, about going on a journey. The uncomfortable feeling that settled in her stomach when faced with a woman who claimed to be her mother, but who she knew could not be, wouldn't go away. She knew, though, that she wasn't going to find any more answers here. She'd better keep moving forward.
She glances down to see that the Pokémon, the Sandshrew, is still following close behind her. She stops, crouches down, patting it on the head.]
Well, if you're coming with me, I'd best think of a name for you.
[Sandshrew's nose twitches in excitement. Vivi declares decisively:]
Jewel. You're Jewel.
[She continues walking down the path, eyeing the tall grass nervously. She's heard rustles in the grass, and isn't sure what might be in there, but she knows they have to go through to get to wherever they're going. Jewel, however, bounds in eagerly. She turns back and looks up at Vivi, waiting for her to follow. Vivi smiles and shakes her head.]
All right, I'm coming. Just be careful, won't you?
