[ Background/History ]
Cosima Liridon was born the youngest of six children to Agenor Liridon and his wife, Edeline, who lived in the capital of Isgardia. The Liridons run a small inn, catering mainly to the traveling merchants and those of a lower class, but her parents were always seeking to improve their social status. As such, as soon as they were of-age, the eldest two sons were sent off, Damon to the military, and Leander to an apprenticeship with a blacksmith, hopefully to bring honor to their family by their works. Tryna, the next-eldest child and eldest daughter, was married to a young man whose family produced high-quality wines.

Of the youngest three children, Pello was being trained by their father in the running of the Inn, with his wife worked under Edeline in the Inn's kitchen. Pello's twin sister, Nelly, was married to the son of another innkeep, located in another town.

And then there was Cosima.

Cosima had always been a difficult child for her parents. Not quite fitting the description of "wild", she had run with the local boys in the streets, and balked at the strict rules her parents tried to enforce on her. She fought against all of the regulations they tried to put on her, until the last straw: They set up an arranged marriage for her.

Both families hoped to get the ;best deal' out of the arrangement. For the Liridons, they wanted someone who would teach Cosima her place and to stamp out her ridiculous desire for 'freedom'. And they found that person in a young man named Phrixos. Phrixos was of a lower class than the Liridons, but by this point, they'd given up on finding anyone who would take their wayward daughter.

Said daughter had other plans, however. When she got word of the betrothal, she begged and pleaded her parents to cancel the arrangement, but they would not relent. When that failed, she did the only option available to her: she fled. Knowing that her parents would suspect she had done so, she took two precautions: first, she took none of her finer possessions, only an old rucksack she'd picked up in the market, and the funds that she could call solely her own, and second, she did not go to Astheled, as her parents would assume, but made her way straight to the Scorching Sands of Zeiban. She knew that the environment would be harsh, especially on one raised in the city, but in the months preceding her departure, she had learned as much as she could about survival from those who visited the inn.

Nonetheless, the odds of a small elven girl surviving alone are slim, despite the knowledge she has, and if it were not for a Zeiban Minotauran woman named Melanie who found her. Melanie trained her in the use of a Quarterstaff, and helped her toughen up and to survive in the harshness of her new home.

Hearing of the fall of Astheled, Cosima's opinion of her former home lowered, but she feared that without Astheled between them, war may erupt between Isgardia and Zeiban. And that the Zeibans may not look kindly on her, despite her defection from her home. Bidding farewell to Melanie, Cosima traveled to Astheled, hoping for, at worse, a place she could build a home for herself without questions asked, and, at best, a purpose that she could give herself.

[ Personality ]
Cosima is one that you don't know what to think of her, at first meeting. Head-strong and willful, her greatest desire is freedom. Freedom from what, she doesn't really know, and neither does she know what she wants to do once she gains that freedom. At first she thought she wanted freedom from her parents and culture, but even getting that, she wasn't satisfied.

Strange for one born into a lifestyle such as that of the Isgardians, Cosima isn't happy with the 'better things in life'. To her, simpler is better. That her parents wanted to 'better' themselves by moving up the social ladder, she simply couldn't understand. And that, in itself, conflicted her. She felt they should be happy with what they had, but at the same time, she wasn't happy with the comfortable life they tried to provide for her.

Despite her lack of purpose in life, Cosima feels quite strongly about 'right' and 'wrong'. However, she doesn't follow any particular rules for what is right or wrong, going instead with her gut instincts. If something doesn't 'feel' right, then it's wrong, and if something 'feels' wrong, then it's not right. If she doesn't get a feeling either way, Cosima goes along with it, until she can decide if it's right or wrong.

Once she's decided on her 'right', and takes up or follows a person or a cause, she'll defend them to the utmost of her ability, or stand against whatever seeks to knock them down. At the moment, she feels that Isgardia is in the wrong, and will fight against even her own brother, should it come to it, to stop them. She doesn't necessarily follow the idea of 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend', but she's more open to listening to someone if they have a common foe.
