I have a solid 22R head you can have. I have a solid bottom end too, but that's earmarked for the CeliKit. Took long enough for the movements of the cosmos to put an '84 22R and a '76 RA29 in my lap...

sweet, I could happily use a new top end. I found a new block for $100 if I wanna build my own in the future, but a 'new' head would be great.

or, it would at least, theoretically, get the truck back on the road.

I'd do a 1UZ-FE swap, since the engine is fairly cheap to get, but the work and cost to mount it is high. (New Tranny, custom clutch, custom housing, custom mounts, custom harness, etc)

What year is the replacement block? There was a change in deck height in '85, where the block got shorter and the head got taller. You could rock the earlier head on the later block, but you will have higher compression and a small variation in crank/cam timimg.

Mine is a 87 block. So it is the newer block, Which is why I'm not trying to do a 20R head swap to it.

The head I have is from an '84 22R. Tall block, short head.

that should still work, shouldn't it? I'll lose some torque, but gain some compression?
