OOC - Marie's Background
Hey all!
I'm Jen and I'm going to be playing Marie (aka Rogue) from the X-Men movieverse.
This version of Marie was created in May of 2006 for Fandom High. You can read about her adventures here if you're so inclined. I do need to give you a brief overview so you can understand what's happened to her before she arrives in Milieux.
At the age of fifteen, a perfectly normal Marie showed up in Fandom to attend summer camp. She discovered that mutants and witches and demons and any number of other odd things were real, much to her surprise. But she accepted it fairly well and continued being a normal teenage girl - joining the cheerleading squad and making friends. She began dating and, after a few stalled attempts, realized that she really liked Jamie Madrox (a comics version of Jamie, not the evil movie version).
When Jamie kissed her for the first time, her mutant powers kicked in (and she accidentally duplicated herself, oops) and she hid for a few days before her friends found her. She came to terms with being a mutant, but elected to keep her new identity from her birth parents, as she had witnessed their anti-mutant behavior on a previous trip home.
Unfortunately, her parents discovered her secret and tried to keep her from returning to Fandom. She finally ran away and caught a train as far as she could afford to go, having called friends to pick her up. But she was kidnapped by Magneto and basically went through X1 canon. She was rescued by her FH friends, however, instead of the X-Men, but she did meet them and began a relationship with Charles Xavier, who wanted to help her learn to control her powers. She ended up asking James Wilson to be her legal guardian and soon came to regard him and Aziraphale as her fathers.
She spent the first part of the summer of 2007 at Xavier's, training with the X-Men and working on her powers (to no avail) and going through X2 canon, after which she returned to Fandom High. At the end of the summer, she ended up deciding to leave Fandom High and finish her schooling at Xavier's. Yes, in real time, she left FH today.
However --
By the time she shows up in Milieux, approximately ten years will have passed (the same amount of time that's passed for Phale & Wilson). In those ten years, Marie finished high school and became a full-fledged X-Man, learning to pilot the Blackbird and going on numerous missions with the team.
She has taken the odd college course here and there but never took the time to actually obtain a degree.
Recently, she has gone through X3 canon, losing two of her teachers and the man who she always thought was her best hope for learning to someday control her powers. However, she did end up taking the "cure" that was developed by Worthington Labs, which means she is now powerless and thinks that she is finally "normal" again -- something she has striven for ever since her powers first developed.
Because of the changes at Xavier's and the fact that she no longer considers herself a mutant, Marie has decided to spend some time with her fathers now that they are back in the country from their myriad travels.
She will recognize anyone who attended Fandom High, though she will be around 24-25 years old, so the age discrepancies will definitely throw her. As will learning that it's fall of 2007 in Milieux.

Marie's going to show up tomorrow and I'm hoping to have her out and about a bit this weekend, so folks can meet her (or re-meet her).
Let me know if you have any questions about Marie! And, yes, she will answer to Rogue if your character knew her (or knew another Rogue), but since she doesn't have her powers, she'll be going by Marie. She still has the distinctive hair streaks, but she's more than happily eschewed the gloves and scarves.
