Bird casualties reported throughout Russian cities

Jan 02, 2009 12:11

According to data obtained from reliable sources, which is my own visual perception channel, the New Year Eve resulted in unprecedented urban bird overkill. Cases of severe death of the feathered community were registered in the main streets, but the most of the massacre took place in courtyards of living quarters. The first version of this tragedy was the recurrence of the notorious SARS virus, better known as 'bird flue'. However, the next day no outbursts of bird death were observed, so this version turned void. Our thorough investigation could shed light upon the true reason of the unfortunate events. The New Year celebration in Russia is coupled with excessive use of not only alcohol, but also of pyrotechnic means of fun-making. When the clock on the Spasskaya Tower stroke 12, the catastrophy broke out, as bonfires, fireworks and crackers began exploding all around cities. The sleeping birds, who, as we are informed, do not have a tradition of celebrating human holidays, were unwillingly drawn into the action and fell numerous preys to our irresponsibility. The humans waged a victorious war against the innocent victims. They were blown up, burnt alive and heart-attacked. Half of the pidgeon population perished. Some crows who survived the holocost, are out of their heads and flying over the streets singing swan songs. Sparrows suicide by falling under the bus-wheels.

The government keeps ignoring the ruthless crime commited nationwide.
