2015 | texture battle with petite_tomate!
I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS. petite_tomate, who is wonderful and talented and amazing and very patient, and I have come together for this battle wherein I basically said if you icon Yu-Gi-Oh! for me, I'll give in and icon Free!. I AM SO THRILLED TO SEE THE RESULTS!! It's the best moment ever when we see everything coming together!!
I LOVE THE ONE OF YAMI. I'm laughing so much because we both used orange for him, it fits him so well! Decorative textures were so hard imo, you really managed yours beautifully, the triangles go really well with Yami because PYRAMIDS and PHARAOH and everything so yeah, clever choice here XD And you also mixed purple with it, and you know my love for double-colors-icons!! I'm not talking about Kaiba first because you know how biased I am, BUT LET'S TALK ABOUT KAIBA. Idk how to describe the vibes this icon gives me, there this icy blue combined with his deadly stare, it fits Kaiba's first appearance so well (when I was a kid he used to scare me early in the serie xD). But THEN HE KINDA CHANGED AND BECAME THE JACKASS WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE.
Ok what to say about that first icon of DW, WORDS FAIL ME! I love the combination of rectangles and circles, it's very creative, it kinda reminds me the shape of the box and the shape of a planet, such a nice touch! AND THE COLORS?! Purple and blue are a combo killer, and again it fits so well with the relationship between Clara and the Doctor! Is the screencap of Clara from the episode where she tried to have a (horrible) date with Danny and then she meets the Doctor as a kid? That's my favorite episode I have to say :'). AND THE 2ND ICON, SO SO CREATIVE! I don't know where to look, there are so many little details! You can see the Tardis easily but which Doctor is it? That's the beauty of it!
PSYCHO PASS!!!!!!!!! You say I slay this fandom but imo YOU DO! I now have 2 PP icons from you uploaded and that's AWESOME (red and blue, that's my aesthetic). AND YOU MADE ONE FOR AKANE AND GINO, LET ME DIE HAPPILY! It's so "them" that first icon, him covering her back, and her going up front because she's just like that. I have to say grunge was very very difficult for me and I'm in awe of what you did with it. The cyan grunge on the right is SO beautiful, it's just a detail but it really does the icon imo. And I love how muted they both look and the icon in itself vibrant. AND THEN YOU MADE A GINO ONE, AND WITH HIS GLASSES! The b&w goes so well here, with that strong red, IDK it really gives off a sense of strength and it fits the character so well!
You made Free! icons. YOU MADE FREE ICONS! The Haru's one is one of my favorite from this batch, this orange is SO yummy and full of light, I really LOVE it. Your texture use is fantastic! I like what you did with Rei, the inversion is so creative, it really adds in depth and makes every details of his jacket and muscles stand out! *i watch for the plot i swear*
And now the Daredevil one, aka THE SHOW FROM HELL! i admire you for being able to color it because for me it was just NOT happening as you know xD And damn, how vibrant they both are! I love middle crop with strong colors and green/purple is such an unusual coloring, I love it! And the Claire one is very interesting too, I love how dark she is but that we still recognize her. You have this vibe of ... IDK, intensity, but also something oppressing (with the red) or very sad and dark with the blue, and it goes so well with Daredevil's atmosphere!
I GUESSED YOU WOULD ICON YOUR FAVORITE ANIME AHAH XD I love the first one's colors, the blue and yellow go so well together, it's soooo pretty! And I love the way he's dressed up because your texture use is very on point with it. And then we have the last one, THE COLORS MAN! YOU KNOW MY LOVE FOR FIERCY RED! I also like the text behind him, really nice touch!

I am pretttttttttttty sure that's the DW episode that's from. Like 99% sure. I really loved the moody darkness that the cap already had so I just had to use it. Plus, Clara's hair and outfit were on point in that episode (like always, haha)!
GRUNGE IS SO HARD THO. I went extra on both my grunge ones just to make sure I was actually hitting the theme. XD But, tbh, there can only be one Slayer (of the PPass fandom), and that is undisputedly you. I accept no substitutes!!!! <3
