I totally get that. I usually go for quotes from the show/movie because that's easier than trying to make song lyrics fit. But I know...I think it was wickdshy who said that she keeps a little notebook or something to jot down song lyrics that sound good so that when you're iconning later, you have a word bank to choose from. I've never done that myself because I'm too scatterbrained, but it seemed like a good idea!

When I'm iconning and don't have a quote in mind, I usually just think about mood and piece together words based on that. For example, this icon that I made for the IAM gift battle isn't a quote or song lyrics (that I know of anyway), but I was working with the idea of loyalty and the relationship between John and Sherlock being characterized by John sort of...guiding Sherlock to be better. And then I had a texture (that you can't see tbh) that had a star burst on it so I just pieced together something lyrical sounding from those prompts. And I know the text you've used in the icon above comes from a popular saying, but it also has those mood prompted elements in it as well because you've got a bad ass lady moment going on there. So that might be a way that works for you too!

I always think of quotes which are far too long and never know what to leave out -.-
That is a good idea! My desk is already full of notes, but maybe I can manage to use something more organized.

Thank you so much for tips, I really appreciate it :)
I wanted something bad ass sounding, but 'bad ass' itself would have looked stupid. I remember when I still put 'hunter' and 'brother' or 'pain' on my SPN icons lol
