the easiest way of doing mine is finding where the source of light is, and draw in shadows with the pen tool then blur it ):

THEN JUST... highlight it if needed + add in blush

I DO BEST WHEN I STARE AT ONE OF MY ICONIST IDOL'S ICONS THEN TRY TO FIGURE OUT HOW THEY DO IT.

IT'S HARD TO EXPLAIN but http://www.itchy-animation.co.uk/tutorials/01-intro-01.jpg there's sunlight on the right, so the shadow's gonna go to the left. If the sunlight was on the left side of the sphere, then it would form on the right side. In that icon, the light source is the top left (as noted in the eyes), so the shadow below the chin is forming mostly on the bottom right.

HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE.

no dodge @w@ lmao well, dodge maybe, I use it sometimes but on lower opacities depending on what looks good but I also rely on Screen and rare occasions Linear Dodge... TL;DR WHATEVER LOOKS GOOD YEAH

Chronocrossing or W/E is one of my favorites although crysella (I think) has a really good tutorial but it didn't fit me after a while and I moved on to being a bit more crisp.
