[The first thing that gets recorded is the PCD being dropped unceremoniously onto the ground. It's easy enough to see that it's an accident, a mistake that wasn't meant to happen. But fingers get weak and slippery, devices fall to the ground and are left to film the scene as it unfolds before them.
And for a while, it records nothing, except the sight of a stone gray tombstone, with only one name and two dates printed on it quite clearly. A name that might be familiar to those who have been within the city for long enough, or have come to know the owner of the device well enough. One very important name. The most important name in all of the worlds to the person who's eyes had rested on it just moments before.
Sora. And the date of his birth. And more importantly, the date of his death. A date that had taken place almost two years before for Riku. The day when Sora had finally confronted him after he had allowed himself to be possessed by Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, and they had fought. Only now, as the images played back in his memory, they didn't go the way he knew they had. Sora hadn't been strong enough to stop him. And likewise he hadn't been strong enough to break free of the grip Ansem held over him. And he had committed the most horrendous betrayal anyone could ever commit. He had murdered his best friend. So simply. As if the friendship had never existed between them at all.
Everything is silent for few more moments, before the chilled air is broken by the sound of a pained yell, followed by a bright flash of light. Only instead of the usual bright blue and red keyblade there's the flash of dark metal: Oblivion. It's only then that Riku comes into view, another bright flash of light appearing, only this time it's as a fire spell, bright blue surrounded by black, aimed directly at the tombstone. A moment later the still smoldering stone is being hit, a piece chipping off, before another, and another, some bigger than other's, some small and barely worth noting, until finally, all that remains is a pile of rocks.
The sound of ragged breathing can be heard as Riku falls to his knees, the keyblade disappearing from his grips as his hands take in fist fulls of dirt, tightening around them as he cries out again, as flashes of manipulated memory begin to appear before his eyes. Only this time, it's of his own death, seemingly real and merciless.
The feed continues on, the last thing it takes in before timing out is the sound of a pained sob and a fist hitting the ground.
Yep. This was definitely going to go down as the best birthday ever.]
