[Four o'clock in the morning probably wasn't the best time to be sending a text message, but to one resident of Adstringendum, it really doesn't matter. He had much more important things to worry about.]
I have a surprise for you. Meet me on the roof of the safe house at dawn.
[Dawn. His favorite time of day. That moment when the last clinging spots of darkness began to fade into the brilliant light of the sun. It was the time when he felt most at ease. The time when he felt like he was most himself. So what better time to carry out his plan than at dawn?
To anyone who may in the area of the Greek houses, they'll notice something that's a rather strange sight for the city of Adstringendum. Namely a path of white lily petals, the soft silk of the flowers littering the ground. The path is slightly thin and sparse, but more than enough to let the person it was meant for know they supposed to follow it.
And where does it lead to? To a roof top. More importantly, the roof top of the house that Riku had picked to become the safe house. The place where and Sango had come after their date. And there, standing in the middle, is a dozen lily's. They're far from perfect or pristine, but it's apparent they've been carefully chosen and cut and well taken care of from that moment on.
And in the middle is a card, a soft creme with jet black writing. On the front is simply a name: Sango But it's what's on the back that's more important. Taped to the card is a silver chain, long and thin, with a small heart pendant hanging from it, both freshly repaired and cleaned (Someone had obviously spent a lot of time searching through piles of nothing to find something that was worth anything.). Written next to the place where the necklace is taped, in clear, practiced writing, is the real reason why all of this has come to pass. Simple words that held such a deeper meaning.
Thank you. For finally making me realize that, sometimes, being second best isn't as bad as it seems. With you, I know it's where I'm supposed to be. But it's also made me realize something else. Something more important. That maybe. I'm supposed to be with you. No matter which piece of your heart you decide to give me, no matter how bif or small, I'll take it, because it doesn't matter. As long as I have a part of it, and you have a part of mine. That's what matters.
What I'm trying to say is: Will you be mine?
As for Riku, he'll just be waiting downstairs in the study, waiting for her to either come and find him or contact him via PCD. Either way, he'll wait, until he has his answer, no matter how long it takes to come.]
