It's been ages!
Wow, it's been ages since I wrote in my LJ....
Let's say I've been really busy and very much stressed out with my workload for Uni and my PhD application. But! Hark! Lo! and Behold! I've got the PhD position I wanted!
Yay!

Yeah, so, the only condition is that I finish all my subjects (4 exams coming up and 4 essays to be written) and finish my thesis in time to graduate at the end of November at the latest, and I need to get a mark 8 or higher (8 out of 10, this is high for Dutch standards, but not impossible. My thesis supervisor is also the project leader that hired me for the PhD position, so I have her support). If that all goes well, I will have my MA degree in English Language and Culture in November. I wll then start my new job as a researcher in training, a teacher and a student in December. The position is for four years, in which I will be studying and following workshops, doing research for my dissertation (A Case study on Horace Walpole and his social Network in relation to Bishop Lowth's grammar) and in my 2nd and 3rd year also teaching undergraduate students. I am looking forward to this so much!!!! There'll be workshops by experts int he field, I may go abroad for archival research (perhaps Finland or the UK), I'm going to discover fun stuff and work really hard....and then.....approx. december 2009....I will get my PhD degree, I wil be Froukje, PhD/dr. Froukje...wow.....
