The Shadow Man

May 09, 2010 16:26

There, in the shadows,
Those eyes:
They're yellow
and bright.

Grasping at blonde straws.
A scream.
A quick draw.
He's kneed.

The man, defeated,
now drinks.
Step on it?
They think.

And he does speed, yes,
and weaves.
Can he guess
who grieves?

He's bleeding so red.
He slid,
and one's dead:
A kid.

Mom is on her way
to put
Son away
for good.

He'll rest next to Dad.
And Mom?
Never glad
or calm.

The man's put in jail.
Blood spilt,
and his tale
of guilt

frees him in the end.
Deep breath;
make amends,
and bless.

Mom doesn't acquit:
He cries
Live with it?
No, die.

critique, lyrics, madd, corruption is frustrating and sad
