So, as much as I enjoy frolicking about in my finest finery, I must accept the fact that I live in the Hellishly Hot State of South Carolina. As such, during the blistering months of Summer, I spend most of my days out in carefully cultivated wardrobe, the staples of which are Hawaiin shirts and straw hats. I call it the "High Tourist" look. I usually wear these sorts of clothes when I'm working on a film set.
Would you, beloved co-dandies, consider this cheating? I admit I suffer pangs of guilt from time to time. After all, I have my fair share of ice cream suits and summer linen, and my forefathers trampsed about in considerably heavier garments without any such advents as Air Conditioning and Gatorade.
So am I a cad, or is this acceptable practice? Anyone else have pragmatic work-arounds for their particular climates/careers/mitigating circumstances?
