Tennessee swim camps to feature Olympic Gold Medalists

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (School Release) -- The University of Tennessee swimming and diving camps begin next week at the Allen Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
Olympians abound at this year's Tennessee swim camps.
Three traditional camps will be held during June and each will feature one or two American Olympic swimmers as special guests. Ryan Lochte will be at Camp 1 (May 31-June 4); Amanda Beard and Peter Vanderkaay will be at Camp 2 (June 8-12); and local Olympians Davis Tarwater and Claire Donahue will be at Camp 3 (June 15-18).
Limited spaces are still available for Camp 1 at the gold medal level. The other two camps have availabilities at all levels (Gold, Elite and Premiere).
Tennessee will also host a masters camp from June 19-22. The Tennessee coaching staff will be joined by volunteer assistant Bill Boomer, the renowned stroke technique coach.
In July, Tennessee will offer four one-day clinics focusing on specific skills: turns (July 21), starts (July 22), under water travel (July 23) and racing strategy and finishes (July 24).
Tennessee head coach Matt Kredich will be leading the camps. Now starting his 10th year at UT, Kredich will be joined by associate coach Tyler Fenwick and assistant coaches Ashley Jahn, Bret Lundgaard and Lance Asti.
Diving coach Dave Parrington, now in his 24th year at Tennessee, will be leading the Tennessee diving camps. Three sessions will be held: Camp 1 (June 8-13), Camp 2 (June 15-20) and Camp 3 (June 22-27).
Parrington will be joined by UT volunteer assistant diving coach Michael Wright, UNC Wilmington diving coach Beau Bunn and Carnegie Mellon diving coach Alicia Gorman.
