I've been on Swimnetwork.com for the last two days--along with some of you, I'm sure! And it's fantastic to see Ryan getting so much support at the Grand Prix meet this week.
Only, I've noticed a trend in the chatlog that runs below the live feed. Ryan fans are being inconsiderate and immature. They're gossiping about how hot he is, how hot his brothers are, they're getting censored, and they're bringing fangirling into the chats.
Please, girls (and guys)! Being a great fan is about being respectful, and we all need to remember that Swimnetwork.com is livefeeding the Grand Prix to the whole world--every fan of swimming who has the internet. That includes parents, children, and coaches. Represent Ryan by being thoughtful, polite, and well-spoken; not by pointing out that Ryan's got the best abs on the blocks. We already know that, don't we?
