No Rain!

So this weekend's 4th of July camping trip was a success. No rain! YAY! Friday we left around noon to go head out to Mendota Hills to meet up with Patti and Mike. We got 2 sites next to each other, so it was pretty roomy and sweet. We got everything set up in record time and then I broke out all of the festive decorations/accessories. It was a lot of fun. Patti & Mike even brought their dogs Sparky and Zora with (who looked adorable in the little Uncle Sam hats). We spent the afternoon having some drinks, playing bags & frisbee and Mike cooked up some amazing turkey chili over the fire. Come night time, we broke open the glow necklaces and sparklers. We even went around to the other camp sites and asked if they wanted some glow necklaces too. It was definately a fun time.

Saturday we woke up and toasted some bagels over the fire. We spent the beginning of the morning just chilling out, and then I took another short nap because I wasn't feeling rested enough. The boys went into town and picked up some more citronella candles and other supplies. Patti had brought some yummy cheese back from her trip in Wisconsin and we got to snack during the day. Jon and I played badminton, I cut up some veggies and potatoes for the fire later and we chilled. We called it an early night on Saturday because we were very tired. It seems like that always happens on Saturday. No matter though!! It was awesome to be outside all weekend and enjoying the summer.

Sunday we woke up, had breakfast and packed it up for the weekend... we got back in just over an hour, grabbed some Taco bell, unpacked, showered and vegged out for the remainder of the day. I made some homemade shredded bbq chicken sandwiches & potatoes come dinner time and we were pretty much spent.

This weekend, Barrington Brew Fest! I know that the boys are going to do the L.A.T.E. ride, but Elyse and I are going to just hang out and do our own thang...

I hope everyone had a great 4th!
