So I took today off. We're pretty slow at work so my boss said it was cool if I wanted to stay home today. Sweet. Anyways... this weekend was good. It finally marked the end of all of our household duties for awhile (THANK GOD!). All of last week we did a lot, from buying a kitchen table and assembling it to assembling our bar in the basement to vaccuuming, cleaning, putting away the last of the boxes, etc. It was a lot of work!! So, when Saturday came around and everything looked just so, we were thrilled. The first shift of people started showing up at 2:30ish. My grandparents and my Aunt were the first to get there and I gave them the tour. I started putting out the food and even more people started showing up. Ms. Sealy came over, along with my parents, Jon's parents, brother, sister and rodger and also my sister and Drew. We played bags outside, chatted with each other... etc. We got a Jimmy Johns platter that seemed to be a hit and I made all of the classics like taco rolls, pickle rolls, chocolate fondue and my sister made meatballs. Around 7ish, the friends started to get here. Steve and Liz brought over their new baby pug, Husker. He was SOOOOOOOO cute! It was nice having a puppy in the house. Tori and Nate came over as well as Patti, Mike, Molly, Judy, Angela, Nicole, Nick, Carla, Amy, Chris, Elyse and Tom. It was a blast. Jon and I were really having a great time and the night was an ultimate success. We took a lot of
pictures for the night, and i'm glad of it!
Sunday, Jon and I pretty much did nothing but laze around and recover from the previous day. We did minimal amount of cleaning and watched the Lord of the Rings marathon. There was nothing better that we could have done!!! Monday, we got our butts in to gear and cleaned the house. We managed to break the garbage disposal with all of the food we were putting down there, but, with the help of our home improvement fix it book, we figured out how to fix it! YAY! We were very happy that we didn't have to call anyone to fix it for us. Later in the afternoon, we drove out to Naperville to visit with my dad for a bit and drop all of Lisa's stuff off that she forgot at our place and to pick up Jon's car from his parents house. After we got home, we spent the rest of the night BBQing some burgers and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Overall, the weekend was very good. Today, i'm going over to Prairie Rock to meet up with the old RRD crew for Angela's last day celebration. Tomorrow is dinner with mom and Friday I might possibly be going to see the Sex and the City movie with Elyse and Cori. Saturday is Sarah's Bachelorette party!!! And... next Thursday, I leave for Washington D.C. to go see Danielle for a few days! How fun!!! I've got a lot of my plate and i'm glad; i've got a lot of things on my mind right now that if I sit for too long and think about them, I tend to get upset. So, if I keep moving, that's a good thing.
There's some more things going on with my family which has been difficult, so i'm glad I have Jon to talk to. Just keep us in your prayers.
Hope everyone has a good rest of the week.
