Wrong Girl, written by
pprfaith This one's a Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Christopher Nolan's Batman 'verse crossover fic, containing serious spoilers for The Dark Knight. If you haven't seen the movie yet, you might want to come back later, because I'm going to talk about some pretty pivotal plot points and I'd hate to ruin the suspense for you.
You're still here? Okay, then.
Basically, here's what happens: Buffy, Bruce, and Rachel grew up together, were the three legs of a tripod, but then Buffy moved away. And then Bruce's parents died, but Buffy didn't come back for that. There's angst, and shattered friendships, and perceived betrayals galore. But now that Rachel's dead, Buffy has returned to Gotham for her funeral. Bruce doesn't deal well with this change, and expels his grief all over her. He doesn't exactly handle Rachel's demise in the safest, sanest, or healthiest way... and yet, Buffy's there for him through all his mod swings. There's pretty much a lot of mourning all over the place in this one, folks (that's why I'm using it to fill my "read sadly" square for
podfic_bingo), and while the story doesn't have a HAPPY ending, the light at the end of the tunnel does start to glimmer a little bit brighter by the last paragraph.

A Study In Black And White, written by
pprfaith The sequel to Wrong Girl, this story picks up where the previous one left off - Bruce has begun to heal some from Rachel's death, and has taken up the cowl of Batman once again. While still not a lighthearted piece, ...Black And White is happier than Wrong Girl - and has a higher mental health rating for Bruce, as well. Plus, I really liked seeing how Buffy, Miss Secret Identity Girl herself, reacted to and helped with Bruce's Gotham Knight persona.

I'm not sure how to wish you all 'happy listening', when these two podfics are both pretty sad... but I hope you download them anyway, and tell
pprfaith how awesome you think she is.
