So, tonight is my turn to post for podtor_who! The idea being to promote Doctor Who podfics, by posting 1,000 words (or more) of NEWLY RECORDED, non-crossover Doctor Who podfic. So, I've got approximately 5,000 words of Rose/Jack, and Mickey, and Pete's Universe for your listening enjoyment!
They Came To Norway To Eat Our Brains, written by doyle_sb4 (who is on the BP List, oh joyous day) is an excellent reunion story. Rose and Mickey have been living their lives as Doctor-less Companions, getting their daily fix of extraterrestrial excitement via Pete's Torchwood. A strange case of zombie-ism comes Torchwood Norway's way, and Mickey and Rose simply must check it out - after all, they recognize the zombie's face! Then, of course, after finding Jack and making sure he's their Jack, there is joyous kissing, and zeppelin driving, and fire drills.
This is an AU from canon Doctor Who, and rules out all the adventure and excitement of The Stolen Earth and Journey's End (at the end of series four). This does not make it any less awesome, however. Jack's reaction to seeing Rose for the first time since she resurrected him, and the interactions between Rose and Mickey even when they're not on assignment, and all the little slice-of-life details that doyle_sb4 slips into the story are all lovely and true to character. Plus, the cameos of Jake and Yorkie!Rose are adorable.
