( i don't have a witty title today. i also don't have a voice. i pretty much sound like a squirrel )
It appears that I have relapsed these past few weeks - I've slipped back into my old lurkery habits, and neglected the actual interacting-with-people part of the livejournal experience. I've been reading fic without giving feedback, recording podfic without remembering to ask for authorial permission, and skimming my flist without leaving comments. It's possible I may need to attend some kind of Lurkers Anonymous meeting, to keep me from falling off the wagon again....
However, in the time I've been working the radio silence, I have
A) lost my voice to a ridiculous degree, for the last five days (it's been miserable, because I keep trying to talk, and making things worse, and then rasping about like a...particularly raspy thing. Maybe a nail file? Anyway, it's pretty awkward/hilarious to hear me talk right now); and
B) finished my contribution to an epic podfic, utilizing the many vocal talents of several wonderful people, who all got together to record a fantastic story that merges elements of X-Men First Class with the other three X-Men movies (even though X3 was full of drekitude, and was a blight upon canon, all things considered) into an apocalyptic future for humanity and mutantkind combined; and also
C) been attempting to put together some kind of Master Podfic Post, with limited (read: very little) success: I can't seem to figure out how to organize my recordings in such a way as to list all the things I want to say about the story and also be organized. Care to point me in the direction of someone else's Master Podfic List, so I can copy their format, pretty please? And
D) written a paper on Children's Literature And Storytelling In Contemporary American Culture, which pretty much coincided with my Feelings About Podfic (except for the porny parts);
E) cooked a meal over a fire pit in the back yard, gone apple picking As A Family and then made an Epic Apple Pie with the spoils, went to Toys R Us in Times Square and visited The Largest Barbie Dream House Ever, finally finished renovating the basement/my bedroom after Hurricane Irene's tender mercies were visited upon us, annnnnnnnd begun dabbling in several new (and, perhaps, unexpected) RPF fandoms, thanks in large part to the voice of pennyplainknits (a girl starts off listening to stories about Chris Pine and Adam Lambert, and then Adam Lambert goes on tour with My Chemical Romance, and then suddenly there are significant introspections devoted to Gerard Way's dick. I was not anticipating these developments, okay?).
Also, I have two major exams next week, and a podfic to post tonight. Let's see how that goes, huh?
