Girl, You're Like A Weird Vacation (the unofficial fanmix)
So, I had Girl, You're Like A Weird Vacation, written by 
moirariordan and previously podficced by
paraka, as one of my 2011
multipodicity entries. I've mentioned this bit of excitement around here before, and you can find my podfic post here.
For some reason - maybe because the story is a High School-to-College AU, or a Coming Out fic, or a fantastic genderswap AU which requires very little knowledge of American Idol Season 8 canon to appreciate.... whatever the reason, Weird Vacation basically took over my brain. In addition to inspiring several coverarts, Weird Vacation left me with lots and lots of happy/gleeful/sad/teary/excited/jittery/smiling FEELINGS.
And, well, what better way to share my FEELINGS than by putting together a fanmix of songs that A) relate back to the central themes of this story, and B) leave me with the same effusive FEELINGS after listening as I had after reading?
Now, keep in mind that there is no direct correlation between any of the songs on this mix and any particular section of Weird Vacation. This is simply a compilation of all the songs that made me "happy like the story" while I was reading, recording, and editing. This mix was not compiled by moirariordan (and probably isn't endorsed by her, either...) Mostly, it's just me being flaily and gleeful as a result of direct exposure to the sheer enjoyability of Girl, You're Like A Weird Vacation. Hopefully, you'll enjoy it, too!
