Gah! Things! So many things!
Okay, so.
Thing Number 1.
Broke my iPod Classic's harddrive. This current incarnation of the iPod Classic has survived two years at my tender mercies, including the time I dropped it in the toilet, and also onto the concrete pool deck. And then it bought the farm one night while I was charging it, COMPLETELY OUT OF THE BLUE. Sixty-five bucks later, they gave me a new iPod Classic - in fact, a newer generation of iPod Classic, because my previous iPod was a) obese, and b) the replacement of a replacement of a first-gen Classic, and no longer actually manufactured by Apple.
Thing Number 2.
I cannot find my external harddrive, and so have only replaced (approximately) 6% of my podfics upon this new listening device. My ears are sad.
Thing Number 3.
I got my
multipodicity assignment the other day: the ever-amazing
paraka. I can't seem to choose between
Girl, You're Like A Weird Vacation, or
Husband-Revealing Magical Lemonade, or
Pocket Watch Boy, so I think I'll just do all three.
Thing Number 4.
Friends, Romans, Flisters, lend me your ears! Does anyone out there know how to pronounce things in Welsh? Because I really want to say the words right in the podfic of Pocket Watch Boy, but right now all I've got for reference is Myfanwy, and a few snagged episodes of the Learn To Speak Welsh podcast (neither of which are being particularly helpful in this instant).
Thing Number 5.
The Red Devils Swim Team had their Divisional Championship Meet earlier this week, and kept a solid lock on sixth place all throughout the meet. There were only six teams competing. However, we once again (eighth year running, bitches!) took home the Most Team Spirit trophy. Give a yell! Give a yell! give a great substantial yell!
Thing Number 6.
Between my current XMFC obsession and my more recent dabblings into AI8 (...Weird Vacation and ...Lemonade are both Kradamish stories. And I seriously thought I'd picked up enough fandoms by now.....sigh....), I am now pondering exactly how a Mutant-American Idol competition would pan out. Would Sean win, with his superior lung capacity and sonic scream? Would Raven morph into Elvis during Rock Night? Would Emma Frost reach into the audience's collective brain, and make them think she had sung the best (meanwhile, she actually cannot carry a tune in a bucket)? Would Azazel bring in the oft-underrepresented Satanic Death Metal voters? My mind is churning with the need to know.
Thing Number 7.
I am currently in the middle of a large bit of math, attempting to calculare some podfic-related stats from this past year. There are a lot of numbers right now....
Thing Number 8.
I go back to school full-time this September, and I have yet to buy textbooks. Amazon currently hates my guts. So does my bank account. Boo you, whore.
Thing Number 9.
We had three solid days of rain, this past weekend. The basement....leaked. Not significant flooding, but definitely squishy carpet, and most floors. This necessitated the moving of furniture. Currently, I cannot access my own bed without climbing over E's mattress. This has made for awkward morning wake-ups.
ETA: Thing Number 10.
luzula has drawn my name from the
multipodicity hat, and has already finished and posted a repod of
waldorph's
The Spring Bride! You can find her version
here and (because I am not adverse to the self-pimping hat) mine is over
here. I haven't had a chance to listen to
luzula's rendition yet, but The Spring Bride was practically made for an oral presentation of the story, and
luzula has an amazing voice, so I'm beyond looking forward to hearing it!
Yup.
So, that's all the Things for right now. I suppose I'll come up with a few more Things after I post this, but I can always come back later..... Thanks for listening ^___^
