Guys! Guys, guys, guys!
I totally didn't realize it until this morning, but my one-year anniversary of podficcing is fast apporaching. Can you belive it? One year, next month! We've been through a lot, podficcing and I; weathered a few storms, learned some new tricks and got to know each others' tics. It's been a rewarding ride, and I plan on posting something awesome on the Big Day (August 11th, for those of you who want to celebrate with me). In fact, I've got plans to post a podfic a day in the week leading up to The Big Day.
But, since that week doesn't start for a few more days, here - have some Greek Mythology Fusion Fic Podfics to tide you over.
The first two podfics are both Greek-Mythology-Meets-Star-Trek-Reboot stories, written by the increasingly awesome
caitri. First up is
Stars In Your Eyes, Laurels In Your Hair, which is then followed by
Sing The Wrath. These are both bitty podfics - clocking in at less than five minutes when listened to consecutively - but her prose is all heart-meltingly lovely, and the world
caitri creates in only a few hundred words is so very vivid (I spent more time pondering the costumes that Kirk and Bones would have been wearing on that world, after the fact, than I actually did reading the fics).

Next up is a J2 AU, featuring several aspects of Greek Mythology that are close to my heart - the Trojan War. Since I spent all of eleventh grade in high school translating the Aeneid from Latin to English, and still actually remember quite a few passages, I found myself flailing about so many times as I read this fic.
Trojan Games, written by
tryfanstone (who is on the BP list, and writes excellent stuff in several fandoms - have you heard
exmanhater's podfic of
tryfanstone's awesome J2 fic,
Bare Boned And Crazy For You?), clocks in at around 20 minutes, and was written for the following prompt: "It's the Trojan War and Jared is the undefeated half god warrior (Achilles) type and Jensen is a captured Prince of Troy. Jared has to decide if he'll use Jensen for ransom or take him home with him." The Intro/Outro music for this podifc is "3200 Years Ago", off the 'Troy' 2004 movie soundtrack. Appropriate, yes?

paraka, for hosting me!), or you can stream the story by clicking below. Happy listening!
Also, for everyone who was wondering, I'm posting tonight's podfics in some small part on the behalf of
applegeuse, who is leaving the world of the internet for AGES AND AGES (alright, a week), and will need something to tide her over 'til her triumphant return.
