"Small hitch in the plan. I know what I have to do. I just have to dial up the awesome."

Ugh..... less than a week 'til the end of amplificathon, and part of me's like, "Yay! Excitement! Awesome stories!", and the rest of me's like, "When will this end? It's dragging on forever...." - so, I apologize if these listen-to-my-podfic-here's-why recs are less than my usual peppy standard.

AMP 2011: Day 73

Two amplificaton entries from last night, both SGA crossover fics. I just love how crossover-able Stargate: Atlantis is ;-)

A few points of interest from the story Congrats, You've Met Your Match (The Space Captain Remix), written by roga...
  • Remix of sabinelagrande's Takes One to Know One.
  • Jim Kirk meets John Sheppard
  • John Sheppard bumps Jim Kirk out of his top-of-the-class ranking
  • In retaliation, Jim Kirk attempts to woo John Sheppard, sneak-attack style
  • Bones watches in aggravated amusement
  • John Sheppard sneak-attack seduces Jim Kirk right back
  • Happy endings for everyone
  • Download the mp3 here. Happy listening!

And, a few points of interest from the story Trans-Atlantic, written by coreopsis...
  • Max, Alec, and Zack are transgenics
  • Logan is Max's not-exactly-a-boyfriend
  • All four make up a Recon Team, as part of the Atlantis Expedition
  • Transgenic reflexes are an excellent defense against the Wraith
  • Transgenic DNA is not receptive to the ATA gene therapy
  • Carson Beckett's infirmary is someplace both Normals and Transgenics try to escape from at the earliest opportunity
  • Download the mp3 here. Hope it makes you smile

AMP 2011: Day 74
And, one more crossover podfic, this time with several different shows: Playing Doctors (or: five medical show crossovers that never happened), another awsome story written by roga, is a medical-shows-crossover-extravaganza. Told as a series of five crossover vignetees (Grey's Anatomy/ER, Grey's/Scrubs, Scrubs/House, House/Grey's, and Scrubs/House), Playing Doctors takes all the best bits of the characters we love on those four shows, and highlights those awesome parts by comparing/contrasting/combining them with equally awesome traits and scenarios of the other shows. Doctor Cox's rant at the interns of Seattle Grace Hospital is my personal favorite of all the crossover parts - download the mp3 here, and pick a favorite part for yourself...

Speaking of crossovers... I'm currently watching the CSI: NY rerun, "Hush" - the one where they end up at the bondage fetish tupperware party, and there's half a dead guy squished under a shipping container. The reason I mention this is that Mark Sheppard has a cameo role as the cranky Irish-accented manager of the shipping port....y'know, the guy who played Badger on Firefly? Canton the third, on Doctor Who?  Perhaps you'll better remember him as Crowley on Supernatural? Anyway, I'm sure that, as just happened to me, this knowledge spurred several crossover ideas in your brain, too. Perhaps Crowley is is masquerading as Badger some time in the future, hoping to snag a deal from some unsuspecting space pirate? Or maybe, the Doctor went back and dropped Canton off on Persephone, for some mysterious Doctoral reason? Also, Chad Lindberg is in this one, too - he played Ash on Supernatural, and is a Trace Analysis tech on CSI: NY. There's gotta be a crossover there - maybe Ash's been resurrected, and is laying low where no-one would ever think to look for him?  Seriously, this episode is like a regular family reunion. C'mon, people, spitball ideas with me!
