Ok, so. I spent the last few days up at Lake Champlain, and while it is not exactly Wilderness (the local coffee shop had WiFi), I did not spend much time online. I did spend lots of time a)in the truck, b)with The Family, c)carrying boxes up four flights of stairs, d)by the lake, e)in the truck as it broke down, f)jury-rigging an iPod charger to work in the car for four different devices besides iPods, g)worrying about job application processes. Overall, it was an intense Family Vacation, and kept me busy.
BUT, busy does not mean that I didn't have something stashed away for posting at a later date. And that later day is today. So, for you, my vague and general amorphous audience, I present two Podfics. Complete with Humor and Technical Advancements!
Podfic One:
The Art of The Deal, by
thefourthvine. The is the one with Humor (well, they both have Humor, but this one doe not have Technical Advancements. Sorry). I was in stitches as I read this, and I had to share the joy with others. I'm actually a little unsure about some of this reading, but the story itself is so lovely that any waffling I might have had after multiple read-throughs can simply be ignored. It's SG-1, dealing with ALIENS who watch CABLE TELEVISION. Tell me that doesn't have bucketloads of hilarious promised right there? Well, it does.
You can download this podfic
here, or at the
Audiofic Archive for the download instead.
(Awesome coverart made for me by the lovely
cybel. Leave her feedback
over here!)
Podfic Two:
Mating Rituals in the Pegasus Galaxy, also by
thefourthvine. Let me preface this by saying that I'd oringally found
thefourthvine's stuff via a rec list of SGA-ness that pointed me towards HER rec lists. I wasn't even expecting her to write stories! But, I was most pleasantly surprised upon reading this fic - and by 'most pleasantly surprised', I actually mean 'laughing so hard that the librarian came over to ask if I was alright, and if so, could I please take it outside'. All in all, AMTDI has never struck me in quite this manner ever before. Also, Technical Development: I learned how to insert tracks that are not me reading into GarageBand, and I also learned how to make my computer read things out loud to me in its own computery little voice (thanks to
this tutorial by
janice_lester for the computer voice - it fit the fic perfectly). I really hope that this fic makes you laugh as hard as I did. It was amazing.
The link to download this podfic can be found
here (thanks to
paraka's awesome hosting skizillz), or at the
Audiofic Archive. The podbook copy of it is also at the
Audiofic Archive.
And, now that I'm done fangirling, I'm going to work on podficcing another of
thefourthvine's works,
Intervention With The Vampire. It, too, is funny. Big surprise there... ;-)
