Why I Love It: Post-The Gift stories are probably my favorite "fall into another universe" stories, in Buffy. Like, the whole Buffy'verse is rife for getting-dropped-into-alternate-realities shenanigans, but post-The Gift stories are always a little bit darker, a little bit angrier. Add in a Dick Grayson who never got rescued by the Batman, who spent his formative years crying vampires to an unbelieving populace, who's been marinated in vengeance. Mix with a Buffy who can't find her way home, who's fallen back on the bare minimum of self care and Slayage. Stake vigorously until the last vamp gets dusted, and enjoy.
