Why I Love It: Any fic about Steve and Bucky living in the future is going to make me happy. A fic about Steve and Bucky living in the future, and Bucky being less than impressed that the future's not quite living up to his expectations - and then doing something about it, to MAKE the future match his expectations? That fic's going to get two thumbs up from me. A fic where Steve and Bucky are living in the future, and Bucky is less than impressed, so he says SCREW YOU to heteronormativity and wears whatever the hell he feels like? IS GOING TO FILL MY HEART WITH JOY. I can't decide if my favorite part of this story is Bucky's desire for more Black Widow merchandise, or putting nail polish on his metal hand, or his star-spangled leggings. I do know that the socks Steve bought him are real, at least - you can buy them at Topshop (and they're on the podfic coverart)! gwyneth portrays such a wonderful portrait of Bucky, who just wants to be comforatble and isn't afraid to tell you so, and Steve, who wants to give Bucky anything and everything that will keep him comfortable - gendered marketing be damned. And the team-interactions are perfect, too - both observing Bucky's new wardrobe, and helping to expand it. D'awwww, I love these boys :D
