Why I Love It: Today is a really Jupiter Ascending day, okay? Both opalsong and rscreighton posted JA podfic, and this morning I got podfic permission to record a MULTI-CHAPTER JA podfic, and I just love how this fandom has been so welcoming to podfic and everything is repods and wonderful. (But seriously - I know that I've got JA stuff by five different Blanket Permission-having authors, bookmarked to record. Thanks for being awesome, JA fandom! Though the rest of my JA podfics are probably going to be on the shorter side, this Amplificathon.) So that's why I'm posting this one today, rather than another, (different), shorter podfic.

But on to why I love this fic - Jupiter complains about how hard it is to learn all the customs and legalities of her new universe, as quickly as she needs to... so Stinger gets her the See Jane Run version of how to be Entitled. It's so wonderfully condescending and patronizing, especially when contrasted with Jupiter's actions throughout the story, and I had the biggest, phoniest, most obsequious GRIN smeared across my face when I read those lines -  I only hope it shows up in my voice, as you listen. I used sound effects, snagged via here and here, throughout the podfic to enhance the world-building experience - and it really IS a wonderful world-building story! I love how fadeaccompli gives such a thorough look into the attitudes surrounding Entitled and Reccurrant people, especially the glimpse of how Entitled view the 'primitive' worlds. I left this story feeling satisfied in ways I hadn't expected, and also craving the intergalactic version of the daytime television classic, "Divorce Court".

(And yes, I'm aware that the cover doesn't really have much to do with the body of the fic... but with a title like this, what other option did actually I have?)

other people's podfic, amp 2015, other people's fanfic, fandom: jupiter ascending, podfic, i made coverart!, there's a girl in my bunk!
