"Thanksgiving is not meant to be an orgy, you know."
I've posted an Avengers-related podfic on Thanksgiving for the past three years. And since we just finished eating Thanksgiving dinner, it's time to post a podfic... about Thanksgiving dinner!
Turkey Soldier, written by copperbadge and historymiss, takes an already-excellent head canon ("Thanksgiving headcanon: Bucky totally attends every Thanksgiving dinner he’s invited to, from the group Avengers meal to the one at Becca’s home to the Capfamily one with Rikki and Steve and Sharon and Sam, and ends the day full of like 8 different turkeys and well on the way to drunk but it’s totally worth it."), and makes it even better, by adding FEELINGS. Bucky Barnes, Winter Soldier, is typically characterized as distant, a loner, even aloof - but Buck Barnes, Devourer of Turkeys, has more inter-personal connections that his stomach knows what to do with. I love the idea of Bucky bouncing around from location to location, having Family Dinner with ALL HIS FAMILIES - you can't tell me that doesn't tug at your hearstrings. And if multiple permutations of Found Families doesn't do it for you, let me leave you with this mental image: Wolverine fries a turkey.
