third week of podficiversary (day four)
Once upon a time, months and months ago, I got very excited and ran straight to the nearest movie theater. I waed my walet in the air, and practically begged the ticket man to take my hard-earned dollars. Why? Because Fast 6 was opening! The Fast and the Furious, part SIX, was playing....and I needed to know what happened.
And it was beautiful.
And then I came home from the movie theater, flush with adrenaline and anticipation, waiting with bated breath for the FatF fandom to be infused with a new rush of life.
Okay, so it's been several months now, and there wasn't quite the influx of new fic I was hoping for, but there was at least one shiny new story to come from the high of this latest installment: she's liable to grow up mean, a Buffy the Vampire Slayer-meets-Fast and Furious crossover fic, written by pprfaith.
Take one Buffy Summers, at the end of Becoming when she's just lost her boyfriend, her new friend, and her mom, and then turn her out onto the road. Make her keep running, past Los Angeles and all the way out to the Atlantic Ocean. Drop her in Miami with no money and no diploma. Add in a darker, edgier, angrier Slayer; a drug-running kingpin; an FBI agent. Stir. Enjoy.
The Intro/Outro music for this podfic is Miss Jackson, as performed by Panic! at the Disco, because I loved how well the song showed off Buffy's fight-or-flight persona. Also because I've had it on repeat for over a week.
