Conversations: A Collection of Dual-Voiced Podfics
A couple weeks ago, podklb and I were having a podfic playdate, as you do, and she bombarded me in the feels with a story of heartbreakingly impressive emotional intensity, as she does. And when we were done recording that - Step by Step, a Glee fic written by wowbright (here's podklb's post for the podfic we recorded, complete with coverart, download options, and some lovely Reader's Notes) - I brought some happy little dialogue-based fics to the party, as I do. (No, really, I absolutely keep a list of multi-voice appropriate potential podfics on my phone, for just this sort of occasion. It's possible I've gone a step too far....)
And that is how Conversations came to be: a collection of five ficlets, all crossovers, all centered around dialogue, all written by ignipes, all read by myself and podklb. The dual-voiced approach to these ficlets, we felt, was the right one to take - if it's not too bold to say, podklb and I make an amazing team when it comes to podficcing together, and by playing off one another for these conversations, we were able to show off a full range of distinctly developed characterizations. Plus, it's a lot more fun to riff off each other, when you're sharing a microphone!
