Top 10 songs of 2011
Thought I'd do a list. Not really that pleased with the variety of music this year, but there are some gems in my opinion.
10. Dhunki - Mere Brother Ki Dulhan
Love the rock feel to this song. And Neha Bhasin completely owns the song.
09. Dildaara - Ra.One
I have my gripes with this song (I don't like the chanting of "when the night has come") but I love the chorus, and Shafqat Amanat Ali has a wonderful voice.
08. Laung Da Lashkara - Patiala House
Fun song. I think I'm one of the few who actually likes Hard Kaur and I like her addition in this song.
07. Saibo - Shor in the City
Gorgeous song, beautiful vocals by Shreya Ghoshal and Tochi Raina.
06. Rabba Main Toh Mar Gaya Oye - Mausam
I love the male singer in this. Shahid Mallya I think. He has a lovely voice, works perfectly for this song.
05. Criminal - Ra.One
Lyrics are kinda weird ("it's criminal, the way that booty goin' pop pop pop) but the song is ridiculously catchy. I love Vishal's vocals too.
04. Senorita - Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
Didn't like this song at first, but kept hearing it and hearing it and it grew on me.
03. Sajh Dhaj Ke - Mausam
Love love love this song. It really grew on me after the first few listens. I love the chorus. Mika and Shahid make a good pairing lol.
02. Thug Le - Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl
My song of the moment. Love the music, love the vocals, love the music video. One gripe, why only one verse? Would have loved for it to have been a longer song. Way too short.
01. Chammak Challo - Ra.One
Was there any doubt on what number one would be? Song of the year, maybe of the decade. Akon sings his Hindi parts flawlessly, and Hansika Iyer's parts is one of my favorite things about the song. Video rocks too.
So there you go. One note, I didn't really listen to Rockstar songs in that much detail, and some other soundtracks were left half listened to throughout the year. But that's my list.
