I was also thinking shotgun because FCA is having a guys retreat soon they're calling "10 things guys should know". One of the included 10 is learning to clean and shoot a gun. Of the others I know that have firearms it's just pistols. I thought it might bring variety.
I figured you would say concealable gun. I may conceal my P30 in the winter though. It's doable... 4 'o clock on my body is pretty comfortable and concealable just trying "mexican style". With a jacket it's no problem for sure.
-Walther PPS felt like crap when I held it. It had the paddle style ambi mag release like HK's but it was hard and gritty. Definitely was a big turn-off. -M&P9c is a possibility. Other than the XDm it's the best gun I've shot, and the XDm doesn't come in a compact. -Kahr I looked at online as an option. I will look for one at the next gun show I go to. -Para Carry looks alright too. I hadn't even thought of them since Para is a 1911 company like Kimber. Damn expensive too.
Right now I'm going to say no to a revolver. Double action only I could live with, but would prefer the option of DA/SA or striker fired. Double stack I could go for, though single stack is also preferred.
Re: facebook status, you could go glock? What's the stances of the department's around there?
