On the eve of Jack Harkness’s birth, his father dies at the hand of a mysterious alien vessel. Many years later, Harkness has become a young Captain and - intent on avenging his father’s death - relocates to Cardiff and joins the newly commissioned SUV Torchwood (much to the annoyance of young Lt. Ianto Jones). One day, there is an emergency on Splott, forcing the crew to put aside their differences and undertake an adventure into the final frontier. Amongst Harkness and Jones are promising cadets Gwen Cooper, Toshiko Sato and medic Owen Harper. Together, they begin arming the human race against the future. The 21st century is when everything changes and Torchwood is ready…
