OMG FALL SEASON HAS STARTED

Sep 23, 2005 01:49

Hi, my name is Ree and I'm a TV addict. Some quick thoughts on my week bonding with my TV.

CSI

Guh, this show still owns me.

I don't care how overdone the whole slo-mo The Right Stuff entrance is overall, THAT ONE TOTALLY WORKED FOR ME. Seeing the team back, whole and ready to kick ass. Hell, yeah, baby, bring it on.

It was so good to see Nick again. Oh, woobie. I'm curious as to how much time has passed. Nick's back in the field (and hopefully seeing a psychiatrist, mainly because I would kill to see that scene later), so at least a few months.

What I really liked about Nick and the bug? Had you not known what had happened to him, his reaction to the roach wouldn't have seemed abnormal to the average person. We pretty much all (okay, Grissom excepted) would have been rather *omg get off* about it. He didn't fall down crying, he didn't start screaming and cower in the SUV. And trust me, there's been fic not far off from that and yes, it was badfic. But this scene -- it was realistic and it made my heart clench. Because you get this sense that overall, he's doing pretty good. He just has his moments when things will flash him back. PTSD and him are old friends, though. I did find it telling that given the choice, Nick chose working the inside of the scene, not the expansive (parking lot like) outside crime scene. But at the same time, wasn't afraid to be left alone when Sara left for lunch. Liked too how Grissom kept Nick on his team when they split up between crime scenes.

That audio tape survived! How freakin' happy am I that they're not dropping the Gordon storyline? PRETTY FREAKIN' HAPPY. And Grissom at the end telling Archie it was between them. Aww, Grissom protecting his Nick.

Grissom's straw hat. That sucker is STILL cracking me up, omg I loved it. There has to be a backstory on it. Maybe he and Nick went to Hawaii to recover. :D

I'm also among the minority who adore Sofia. I'm so glad to see her back and, even better, part of the police dept. And if a woman has to make eyes at Grissom, I'm rooting for Sofia. They have the chemistry and the respect.

I don't care how many times I see it, liquified bodies STILL makes me wanna hurl. It reminds me why I'm not going to CSI school myself. Greg getting it on him and then saying Grissom would have tasted it on purpose and Sara being all *omg you're a cannibal now*. Bwa!

OMG WARRICK IS MARRIED. That shook me up. Oh, Catherineface. And say whatever you want about her missing her chance all these years blah blah -- until recently, she was his boss and I can't see her crossing that line. And then the team was put back together (tho I don't doubt she still outranked him) and she bides her time while he dates Tina, someone she could tell herself wasn't serious. And then this happens. And not only that, she had no time to digest it. There wasn't that grace period you usually get between the engagement announcement to the actual marriage. That door was just slammed shut. I was v. v. proud of her for admitting to Warrick why she was bipolar on it, not to mention proud of Warrick for continually confronting her.

I do wonder how long Tina will last. I don't remember what season she was first mentioned, but definitely at least this past one. My only hope is that Warrick doesn't regret his knee-jerk reaction to Nick's trauma.

And I'm just now realizing how alike he and one Mr. Brian Kinney are. Something traumatic spurring a life altering decision -- and in this case, the same decision toward marriage. Security and comfort. (And no I haven't seen 513 yet, so no spoilers on the aforementioned Mr. Kinney's marriage omg.)

Nick and Warrick in the lockerroom (I love their friendship like whoa) and asking Grissom to go celebrate (HE SAID YES OMG) and Cath bowing out (so sad omg). And end with Grissom and Archie with that tape. Really great scene.

Lost

I'm still not over the trauma that was Jack's hair.

I miss Sawyer. He's off shot and drowning and I NEED TO SEE THAT PLZ.

That opening scene kicked ass. Totally not what I expected and I loved the whole feel to it. I kept flashing back on that movie Blast From the Past where the family lived underground for decades. Everything was so cheery and light -- and yet had this lingering feeling of waiting for something to happen. OMG WHAT HAS MR CREEPY BEEN PLANNING. Actually, we don't really know if he was the original one to have build the hatch, do we? Hmn. Did he know it would happen and was training for that, or did he get stranded there too and either took refuge in there or was locked in there by others? OMG QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS.

I think my system detoxed a little during the summer, because Kate didn't bother me much this ep. We'll see how long that lasts.

Ditto on the backstory of future Mrs. Jack. It actually explains a lot of Jack's ancy-ness at the wedding and his whole outlook on responsibility for others and gratitude and obligation and, yeah.

Hurley. He's still cracking me up, especially when he's freaking out. Every scene he's in is my favorite, I swear. :D

I'm not sure why Jack was so bent on not allowing Locke to investigate the hatch on his own. I guess trying to keep everyone together until the threat passed?

Shannon. ♥ Shannon/Sayid ♥ ♥ ♥

Speaking of Sayid. He sure didn't like when Charlie called French Lady nutso.

I think that dog freaked me out more than wet!Walt.

I miss Sawyer. Jin better be saving his ass right now omg.

Gilmore Girls

I'm kinda scratching my head on this one. I've loved this show for years, but this year ... yeah, I'm borderline meh on the whole of it. I think I'm getting old. Cos I'm caring less about Rory and her woes and more wanting to follow Lorelai and Sookie around. Or Paris. Where's my 50% Paris, 50% Lorelai ep? I want so badly.

That said, my favorite Rory moment -- "Anyone want a cigarette?" Her FACE and POSTURE in that moment OMG. *dead*

I swear I will cut Lorelai like my prison bitch if she screws up the Luke thing.

new shows I'm giving a chance

Invasion-- love the cast, perfect companion to Lost, even tho I'll miss Alias being on that night.
Threshold -- another cast to love (OMG DATA) and the storyline is fun after the X-Files drought. Also? I love that dog.
Reunion -- I can so see this becoming one of my guilty pleasures.
Criminal Minds -- MANDY PATINKIN OMG. Loved him since Chicago Hope. I even watch him walk down every single one of those stairs in that dull drug commercial of his.
My Name Is Earl -- one of the few comedies this year that actually made me laugh.
Everybody Hates Chris -- the lovechild of Wonder Years and Malcom in the Middle and makes me chuckle, if not full-out laugh yet.
Numb3rs - Okay, it's only new to me, but I discovered the joy that is Charlie and Don just this summer in reruns.

And I half-watched an ep of Prison Break this week. THAT WHOLE BODY TAT IS HOT KTHX.

Know what else owns me today? Tracy Chapman's new CD. AND my new rockin' haircut. Oh, yes. I'm one hottie sitting here, y'all. And will be back to dork once I shower in the morning and am unable to ever style it the same way my hairdresser did. :|

OMG A HUGE SPIDER IS ON MY DESK. Does anyone else talk to bugs when they kill them? "OMG YOU'RE HUGE WHERE THE FUCK DID YOU COME FROM OMG DON'T MOVE NEED TO GET LOTS OF KLEENEX DO NOT GO BEHIND THERE THAT'S IT COME HERE OMG---" *squish*

tv: lost, music, tv: gilmore girls, tv: csi, teevee
