No, "meme"is pronounced "meem." It's not the French for "same;" the term was coined to refer to a unit of cultural information, the way a gene is a unit of biological information. Hence, "meme" like "gene."

I wasn't pronouncing it as French. That never came to mind. When I first saw it, I thought "meh-m" - and called it that.
On a The Big Bang Theory rerun last evening, Amy Farrah Fowler, Sheldon's gf, pronounced it 'meem'.
