FINALLY OMG. I've gotta stop re-reading everything as I go along. This woulda been done a lot sooner. >.< BUT IT'S SO HARD NOT TO WHEN IT'S ALL SO DELICIOUS GUUUUUH. Anyhoo, this is batch one. More later, yup yup.

Situation Normal (All Fucked Up) by severina2001. (Original LJ post.) AU. John/Matt | R. THIS FIC, YOU GUYS. This was one of the v. first LFODH Sev fics I read and it is still one of my faves, hands down. IT IS EPIC APOCALYPSE FIC. I had so many emotions reading this, guuuuh. Done as only Sev can do. ♥

Solve for: The Rate of Acceleration of Two Objects in Free Fall… by persnickett. (Original LJ post.) John/Matt | PG-13. The one where John and Matt are stuck on the roof of a burning building and BAMF!Matt saves the daaaay. I love this one so much. The non-linear storytelling is aces and characterization spot-on and there's banter and I adore banter. Love love love! Snick does h/c so goooooooood. Bonus: BAMF!Matt, booyah! Ooh, and flashbacks via Bowman. And did I mention BAMF!Matt?

Situation Normal by apetslife. (Original LJ post. | Part 2 | Part 3) John/Matt | NC-17. Six months post-movie and Matt needs John's help. AHHHHHHH THIS IS SO BRILL. Totally memorable fight scene between John and a baddie (you'll know when you get there omg). Great h/c and you know how I love my h/c. ♥ Bonus: Holly is awesome!

Save As | Part 2 | Part 3 by poisontaster. John/Matt (Matt/Lucy) | R. OMG THIS IS SO GOOD, YOU GUYS. There's a QaF 510 desperate feel to it that I wanna kiss on the mouth and cling to. The characterization is spot-on; you can hear them in every piece of dialogue. Included: PTSD and delicious h/c and excitement and arguments and family and love and eeeeeeeeee! Also, BAMF!Matt is back, woot! The whole series is wonderful, and covers the two years leading to this part, iirc. YOU SHOULD READ THEM ALL. Bonus: A little different, more angry version of Holly than I've run across so far.

Mr Rock and Roll by torakowalski. (Original LJ post.) John/Matt (Matt/Lucy) | NC-17. When John comes around, it's to a familiar softwetwarm feeling, and his first thought is Holly. Except, unless things have changed a lot in the three years since he's seen her, Holly doesn't have stubble, and that's weird enough to drag him all the way awake. Guh, I love this one so freakin' much. Hospital kisses and John being a stalker and a fun Lucy and hot-funny-sweet sex AND TOP!MATT OMG I LOVE TOP!MATT.


And I'll Stay Right Here by torakowalski. (Original LJ post.) John/Matt | NC-17. "How the hell does this always happen around you?" Matt asks - okay, demands, okay, maybe screeches. There are bullets flying over his head, over the reception desk he's crouched behind; he's allowed to feel a little hysterical. There are people shooting at John and Matt and I couldn't help giggling right away at the way John talks to himself. Also, John gripping the back of Matt's neck will always be hot, even (especially!) during shoot-outs. And then there's a bit o' kink amid some very hot sex at the end, mmm.

Coda by gemjam. John/Matt (Matt/Lucy) | NC-17. Matt tries to work out how his story ends. Things aren't working with Lucy and when she breaks up with him, Matt finds himself spending more time with a tired, disillusioned John. I lovelovelove this one. Just the natural feel of it as it progresses is lovely. Oh, and there is Band-Aid sex. AND IT IS HOT. AND SWEET. HOTSWEET YES.

The Height of Technology is Frozen Pizza by hackthis. John/Matt | PG-13. The first time Matt calls McClane, it's because he ordered too much pizza. Omg, you must read this one aldfkja. Made me lol and have gleeful feeeelings. Bonus: Internet chats between Lucy and Matt. \:D/

Hot In Here by severina2001. John/Matt (Matt/Lucy) | R. When John hasn't shown up by six, Matt is mildly annoyed. By six fifteen, he's progressed to angry. When the clock hits six thirty and the casserole is a giant sludgy congealed mess, he's officially fucking pissed. They're roomies, John is late, Matt worries and omg I love this one to infinity and beyond. Also has one of the best lines that made me lol.

Just That Simple Thing by torakowalski. John/Matt | NC-17. "Daisy Duke, did you break into my house today?" John's voice was extra rumbly when he was pissed. Matt didn't find that hot. Not at all. It's that dreaded time for a McClane: Christmas. Hee. Matt and Lucy decide to change John's mind about the holiday. Then there is dinner and green pea ammo and hot floor!sex, guuuuh.

Orbits, Drift by
scaramouche. John/Matt | R. Matt and John get used to each other. Follows John and Matt for several months post-movie, starting at the hospital passing notes between their room via nurses and then lots of other delightful stuffs happens and omg I love this fic so much. Spot-on voices for both and made me lol lots. (Part one of the Romansu Romansu (in the Pantsu) series, but this first is my fave.)

Bad Habits Die Hard series by persnickett. (Original LJ post.) John/Matt | PG to NC-17. McClane had this thing, where he went around talking to himself when he was agitated. This series = one of my faves! ♥ I wanna gush about my fave part, but that would spoil what happens aldfkjas. BUT YES GO READ. It's Snick, so you know there's gonna be awesome h/c. :D

Life, Mid-Crisis by lamardeuse. (Original LJ post.) John/Matt | R. And then that night McClane showed up on Larry King, of all things, and proceeded to tell the entire world that the real hero of the Great Fire Sale of '07 had been Matthew Farrell, and that he was the guy the press really wanted to be talking to. And wouldn't you know it, the fucking world believed him. Post-movie and the two have gone their separate ways, but not for long. Really great, following along as Matt tries to get his life back and take control of his future. This one has this, I dunno, calm about it, I can't even explain. Just, yes. This is how it should happen. ♥ (Part of the Life, Mid-Crisis series.)

The One Where Matt Farrell Is Most Certainly Not Sleeping With John McClane (not even a little) by lunabee34. John/Matt | R. "Dude. Delusions of grandeur much? Newsflash, Matt-McClane doesn’t need your help. He’s Han Solo, and you’re C3PO. C3PO with no legs." John, Matt and Warlock all work for the FBI now, John and Matt share an apartment full of UST, and then there's a hostage situation, wheeee! Bonus: A really great Warlock. And the return of BAMF!Matt, eeeee. You'd think I had a kink or something adlfkjas.

Post-movie with John getting used to having someone at home and having all the feeeeeelings and then Matt moves out, but that's when things start. Oh, yeah, and then they go to a wedding. This one has a different tone to it, all snarky and irreverent in all the right ways and I was loling throughout ("Conga line!"). They've been together a year iirc and their banter is affectionate-snarky and oh hey! CONTAINS TOP!MATT, THAT RARE CREATURE. :X Bonus: Jack is awesome. (Last part of the The Crack in the Door series, but those are more Zeus centered.)

Getting to Know You by miss_pryss. John/Matt | R. "Is this…" Matt started. McClane glared at him. He didn’t seem much happier about the whole situation than Matt was. Matt plunged ahead. "Is this a play date?" Post-movie and Matt is booooored in the hospital (in the cutest way) when Lucy wheels John in. That play date turns into doing something together every Sunday and it is de-light-ful. ♥

Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before by hackthis. John/Matt | R. An evil genius, a twenty-something hacker and a fifty year-old cop walk into a fire sale... Life in the apartment and John talking to himself and Matt shaving his head and, oh, yeah, John eating pot brownies lol.

Coming Home by lunabee34. (Original LJ post.) John/Matt | R. Matt's not that guy. He's really not, no matter what McClane said. Staying alive is a very special motivator, and saving McClane, saving Lucy-that was just another kind of saving his own ass. So how he ends up here on the floor of Citibank watching his blood sink into the carpet, Matt doesn't exactly know. Mmmmmph, so good. Intercuts flashbacks with present day at the bank and it all flows so wonderfully. Funny and perfect banter and some lovely h/c. Bonus: BAMF!Matt, hell yeah!

Waist Deep and Sinking by lunabee34. (Original LJ post.) John/Matt | R. Every time he hears a car backfire, Matt has to fight the urge to drop and look for cover. Matt is jumpy and John is touchy-feely and it's just really sweet. ♥

How Enos Finally Caught Daisy (Or, Possibly, The Other Way Around) by shetiger. John/Matt (Matt/Lucy) | R. John's not afraid to try new things. He just likes to take his time, when he can. There's just something about this one that's comfy and believable with Matt and Lucy not lasting once the excitement died down, and Matt and John e-mailing and just, mmm.
