Just last night I was just watching Fashion Police rip her a new one over her latest outfit and thinking I hadn't seen her around in awhile.

Yeah, E! rescheduled this morning's rerun of Fashion Police - no surprise there. I turned to rewatch and it had been canceled. As macabre as the timing of Joan Rivers' comments were, she was right on in her remark about Whitney's destroyed voice and general denial, but her timing, damn. And wow, what a tragedy. As someone in recovery (who thankfully got the message fairly early on in life and haven't suffered any obvious physical long-term consequences), I can't help focus on the truth that addiction really is a great leveler - even such bright stars are sometimes at its mercy. So sad.

I was gonna rewatch it too, heh, but yeah, like you say, it got rescheduled. Which I know was the right thing to do, but, dammit, I wanted to see that, pffft. Oh, man, the timing. Talk about awkward. I wonder if Whitney saw it.

It's terrible, isn't it? I read it online last night (here) around 5 am when I couldn't sleep and was really shocked. And then when I woke up properly this morning I turned on the radio they were playing "I will always love you" and it hit me again. I guess I thought it had been a dream or something :(

For me, it's even more "One Moment in Time" than "I want to dance with somebody", but yeah, she was certainly a very big presence during my teens.

I totally know what you mean. VH1 showed her videos for a day non-stop and it just seemed surreal. :(
