That fall of Charles's on the beach. Oh my good god. How does James do that fall/scream so perfectly heartbreaking and utterly graceful?! HOW I ASK. It's like this tragic ballet with his pointy toes and silent scream. I need a gif of that so bad. And it being in slo-mo just tears my heart apart even deeper AND THEN THIS HAPPENS:
Okay, first? HOLY FREAKIN' BLUE EYES, MR. MCAVOY. Geez. Be hotter, why don't you. I can't believe I hadn't been gobsmacked by his stupid eyes before that scene. But, hey, once there's 40ft of BLUEBLUEBLUE, kinda hard to miss 'em then! Hee. Anyway! The holding, omg! Hand on chest! Neck grabbing! It's all too much for my wee heart. :((( I know the bullet must've done all the worst damage on impact, but my gut instinct from the moment Erik flips him over, "OMG STOP MOVING HIM-- NO NO NO LEAVE THE BULLET IN FOR THE DOCTORS TO-- OMG HOLD STILL YOU'RE GONNA PARALYZE HIM FOREVERZ-- DAMMIT HE CAN'T FEEL HIS LEGS-- ERIK COME BAAAAACK HE CAN'T FEEL HIS LEGS!!!" Makes me want fic where, had he not been moved, the doctors say his body could've healed after the swelling went down kinda deal. But then there'd be no beach cuddling and ack, I'm conflicted, cos, beach cuddling! Hmn, maybe Erik could lean over his back with Charles's still on his belly and press their cheeks together and whisper in his ear and pet his hair. Yes, yes, I like that. :D

It bothered me 1000000 times more on the rewatches that the two most important people in Charles's life left him bleeding and broken on a beach. *sob* I think I was still in shock the first time 'round.
I miss you, Darwin. Oh oh, fandom was talking, and I guess there's the chance he's not dead after all? (It's comic canon, I take it?) Like, his super adaptability made his matter... just, uh, scatter. Scattery matter! BUT WITH MORE SCIENCY WORDS OKAY. And he could reform back eventually. Okay, now, see, THAT woulda been a great OMGMOMENT for after the credits, movie!
Y'know, it's kinda freakish how they really could pass for siblings. THEIR EYES AND CHINS AND FOREHEADS ARE THE SAME. Which gives me all sorts of ideas how Raven would alter her appearance to actually resemble Charles and his family to fit in and ohhh Raven. :(

I haven't stopped reading fic since first seeing the movie a coupla weeks ago and still haven't even scratched the surface of what's out there aldfkjas. I WANT ALL THE THINGS. I did learn that Alex is Scott's (Cyclops) brother, which, y'know is just plain neato. Maybe we'll get Scott in the next movie, squeeee. And Moira was originally Charles's girlfriend (...wife?) and was made CIA randomly for the movie. Things I Did Not Know Before The Movie for a hundred, Alex! (The other Alex, heh.) And that Alex/Hank is like, a thing!
The Charles dislike -- now that caught me off guard. I loved him so completely, I hadn't realized so many didn't care for him! Him supposedly growing up privileged and perfect with no problems evah was the major problem they were having with him, which makes me sit back and blink every time I run across it either in comments or fic, cos, wow, that's just not something I ever took away from the film. You have to assume he essentially grew up alone and lonely before Raven, and then I found the comic canon, I think -- XM canon is so COMPLICATED, y'all, what with the multiple comic universes and movies, etc. -- explanation about his parents; that was his step-father's mansion, whom his mother married for money after his dad died, his step-father physically abused him and his childhood included an equally abusive step-brother. So, yeah, not perfect. To be fair, his family wasn't really touched on in the movie and that is a sad, sad thing. Hopefully the second movie will have flashbacks.
